You Can Benefit
From New Multifocal Lens Designs
Timothy Milburn, O.D.
Annamarie Milburn, O.D.
Over the last 20 years, advances in
optical lens designs have led to the introduction of progressive multifocal
lenses, also called no-line bifocals. Progressive multifocal lenses allow
normal vision at all distances: far, intermediate, and near.
This technology has constantly evolved over the years
and many of our patients are now benefiting greatly from new lens designs
that have become available in the last 12 months.
The latest advances in multifocal lenses allow for a
25% wider reading zone in the bottom of the lens. A wider reading channel
improves your chances for success by reducing the adaptation time to a new
prescription
and by decreasing the amount of side-to-side head movements necessary while
reading.
More than 90 percent of all progressive wearers adapt
to their lenses quickly and greatly benefit from this lens design. If you
are experiencing trouble reading for the first time, or if you are not satisfied
with your current bifocal or progressive lenses, then it's time for something
new.
Explore your options with your eye care professional
and remember that for the best possible vision, ask for the best possible
progressive multifocal lens.
